Our mindset sets the tone of our perspective. The way one person views the world is different to the way another sees the world. A lot of factors contribute to this difference in perspective such as upbringing, beliefs, past experiences like trauma and preferences. One major contributor is, your mindset.
your mindset is simply how your mind is set up to respond to situations. Now there are many mindsets to reference to, but I would like to speak about and employee vs entrepreneur mindset. You can be an employee with an entrepreneur mindset (ENM)but cannot be an entrepreneur with an employee mindset(EM). So In simple calculation entrepreneur mindset fits in any situation vs employee mindset. I would like to look at the differences.
EM is very short term and big picture is limited whereas ENM looks long term and the ultimate outcome. EM requires regular predictable earnings whereas ENM has its eye on the price. This means that a person with ENM would most likely sacrifice short term gain to achieve a long term objective. EM brings the problem and ENM highlight the problem and does so in conjunction with possible solutions. EM sees problems ENM sees opportunity.
EM is highly dependent on line manager and ENM is solution focussed and takes responsibility. EM feels entitled and waits for his/her turn and ENM goes out there and grabs the opportunity. When issues arise at work the ENM looks at the whole problem holistically and an EM looks only how the one part of the problem affects him or herself.
When you have an ENM, you understand that your manager is actually your client and if you think of you manager as a client, then you are going places. employee mindset sets you up for failure because you are just trying to survive. ENM allows you to scale, because you are not limited by your perceived resources. EM says I can’t I need more resources ENM says how do we get to where we want to get.
The quality of your life will improve significantly if one applies the ENM. employees with ENM always grow quicker within their organisation because they are solution and responsibility orientated than EM employees.
